About Me:
I graduated Oregon State University with a B.S. in Construction Engineering and a B.S. in Business Administration. I worked in Portland for about five years managing commercial construction projects from 60 unit retirement homes to 800,000 s.f. wafer manufacturing plants. The big city life was not right for my wife and I, so we left our jobs and decided to take a year off while we searched for the perfect place to live.
During our year off we hiked the 2650 mile Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada and traveled around the western U.S. looking for home. We found home here in Hood River back in 2001. I started Summit Construction and built custom homes and did major remodels. I had the opportunity to work with some wonderful clients and build some very nice homes, but couldn’t figure out how to do it without working too many hours.
The shift to real estate was a natural one for me as we’ve been buying and selling property since we moved here back in 2001. The skills I developed in my construction business transfer exceptionally well. Most importantly, I truly love what I do. I also now have control over my time and spend more of it with my wife, Tracy, and daughter, Willow.
When not working I enjoy spending time with my family, mountain biking, snowboarding, skiing, hiking, backpacking, and riding my dirt bike. One of these days I’m going to get my jibes down and then add windsurfing to the list. With so much to offer, Hood River is a wonderful place to live and raise a family. Like Dorothy says “There’s no place like home in the gorge.”
